Field Visit with Sanjeevini Mobile Health at Deriya village.
During this visit, we met with a traditional Midwife Ms. Susheela who has conducted over 200 home childbirths in her village. She explained different cases she has encountered throughout her life and how she manages to deal with difficult cases. Ms. Susheela uses herbal medicine and oils to help with the delivery of the babies. We then had time to interact with the kids from the village. We learned that kids love to take selfies and were very excited to see a big group of visitors. The kids are seen laughing when a students was showing them how 'Snapchat filters' work and they enjoyed looking at themselves through a phone camera as many of them do not have that opportunity. The village also provided lunch for us. We ate from big leaves, and we learned that once we are finished with our food, we fold our leaf. I also learned that the hosts of the village do not eat until the guests have finished eating.
